Dermatology Clinic for Animals welcomes our new associate veterinary dermatologist, Dr. Milivoj "Mel" Milosevic!

Dr. Mel attended and graduated veterinary school from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, Mexicali, Mexico in 2007. This allowed him to have a better understanding of his family heritage and cultures. His mother is native Mexican and his father emigrated from Bolivia. His father studied at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and has since practiced as an M.D. in the United States for over 30 years.

Dr. Mel has 7 years of veterinary experience. After graduation from veterinary school, he worked for three years in a large private practice hospital in the Los Angeles area before beginning a one year internship, followed by a 3 year residency in veterinary dermatology at the University of Tennessee. During his residency he performed research projects on the effects of butorphanol on intradermal skin testing as well as PCR amplification and DNA sequencing of Demodex injai from otic secretions of a dog, both of which were published in the international journal, Veterinary Dermatology. His special areas of interest include: allergies (atopy), infections (especially methicillin-resistant pyoderma), endocrine disease (hypothyroidism and Cushing's disease) and autoimmune diseases.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Milosevic to Dermatology Clinic for Animals, and look forward to being able to provide increased availability for your dermatology referrals! For more information, please contact us at (253) 596-5093, or visit us on the web at www.dermvettacoma.com
