Dr. Kimberly S. Coyner, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology, graduated from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After a referral private practice internship and a year in emergency practice, she obtained a two-year teaching position and then a three-year residency position in dermatology at the University of Georgia, which she completed in 2001.
Dr. Coyner has authored multiple articles in the scientific journals Veterinary Dermatology, Veterinary Medicine, and The Compendium on Continuing Education for the Practicing Veterinarian, as well as book chapters in the field of dermatology (Morgan's Handbook of Small Animal Practice 4th. Ed., 2002, and Small Animal Dermatology Color Atlas and Therapeutic Guide, 2001 and 2006). She participates in clinical drug trials of cutting edge treatments for atopy and other skin diseases in companion animals, and her special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of atopy (including extensive experience in sublingual allergy immunotherapy), chronic otitis, allergy immunotherapy for the treatment of feline asthma related to atopy, and immune-mediated skin diseases.
Since 2001, Dr. Coyner has been in private dermatology referral practice at Dermatology Clinic for Animals in the southwest United States, and is excited to now be serving the Tacoma and Lacey areas. She sees patients in Tacoma on Tuesdays, and in Lacey on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Dr. Alexandra P. Gould is originally from Haddonfield, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College and her veterinary degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!).
Dr. Gould completed a rotating small animal internship at VCA Newark Animal Hospital in Delaware followed by the Dermatology Clinic for Animals' veterinary dermatology internship program, and we are excited to welcome her as a full veterinary dermatology resident.
In her spare time, Dr. Gould enjoys singing, Tae Kwon Do, baking, and spending time with her husband and her terrier mix, Daisy.
Christy started working in the veterinary field in 2006, when she began working at a small animal practice in Oregon until her move to Washington when she joined Dermatology Clinic for Animals. She has two cats named Bubbie and Yogi Bear as well one happy puppy named Trigger. In her free time she and her family like to go kayaking, camping and fishing.
Amy has been a licensed veterinary technician in mixed veterinary practice since 1991, and joined Dermatology Clinic for Animals in 2015. She is excited to work toward achieving her advanced technician certification in veterinary dermatology, and bought her own microscope to practice cytology skills in her free time. In addition to her dermatology interests, she is a passionate advocate for pain management in veterinary patients. She enjoys fly fishing/tying, cooking and baking, quilting, listening to 80’s hair bands, and collecting Barbies.
Vicki was in the pet retail industry for 4 years before joining the Dermatology Clinic for Animals in 2015. She has 2 Chihuahuas named Maya and Penny which run her house, and in her free time she enjoys being outdoors and arts and crafts.
Traci has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for 3 years and started in Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to Washington a year ago with her husband and 2 dogs, a Beagle named Charlie and a Chihuahua named Pico. In her free time she enjoys hiking and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her human and dog family.
Peggy joined our team full time as Practice Manager in June 2018. She relocated from Arizona working as Director with Dermatology for Animals to return to her love of the Northwest. She obtained her CVPM in 2012.
She loves spending time with her kids, Megan and Taylor and her furry kid, Jordy. When she is not working, you can find her kayaking, hiking, playing racquetball or violin and learning how to cook without the fire department involved.
Lauren has been working as a veterinarian assistant for 3 years. Originally from Philadelphia, she moved to Washington fall 2017 after her husband was stationed at Fort Lewis. In her free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her husband and three fur babies. Koa the Belgian Malinois, handsome Jax-the Foster that never left and ruler of the castle- Pitty princess Luna.
